
Flights to Lanzarote
The airport is located in Lanzarote’s capital, Arrecife (ACE)
You can find direct flights to Lanzarote from most large European cities and the best prices can be found on flight comparison websites such as Skyscanner.
The average round-trip ticket price from European cities to Lanzarote is around 50-150 euros. Arrecife Airport (ACE) is in the south of the island and It’s a 25-minute taxi from Caleta de Famara.
Ferry to Playa Blanca or Arrecife
Catching a ferry to Lanzarote is a great option if flying isn’t for you or you want to bring your car with you.
The ferry can be taken from Cádiz or Huelva (Andalucía, South Spain) or from one of the other Canary Islands.
The journey from Spain takes around 1.5 days, and is offered only on certain days. The journey from Fuerteventura takes 25 minutes only and runs hourly.

Lanzarote Car Rental
Renting a car is a very convenient way to get to Caleta de Famara from the airport or ferry port. You can save money on taxi fare as well as plan many cultural excursions. The usual rental charge is 100-150 euro per week. We work with Payless Car in Lanzarote rental which is located at the main airport.
There are 2 easy ways to make a car reservation in Lanzarote. You can reserve a car by clicking on the PayLess, or by giving us your full name, rental dates and flight data.
You can pick up the car at the airport or in Famara upon arrival at our surf shop.
Top tip: When arriving in Lanzarote from an international destination, your terminal will be T1. When you arrive from a neighbouring island, your arrival terminal will be T2.
Public Busses
If you are on a budget, you might want to get a bus to Caleta de Famara. Despite the cheap bus fare (around 5 euro), the ride will take you a long time because the bus frequency is low.
You can buy tickets on the bus – don’t forget to select the bus stop you are traveling to (Caleta de Famara) as this is what the price of the ticket will depend on.
The maximum banknote accepted on the bus is 10 euros, so you are better off carrying coins.
- Monday – Friday:
- Bus line 22 from the airport to Arrecife’s main bus station Intercambiador, then change to bus line 20 to Caleta de Famara.
- Weekends:
- Bus line 23 from the airport to Intercambiador, then change to the line3 from Intercambiador to Costa Teguise. The bus stop that you need is Playa Bastian.
- There you change to bus line 31 to Caleta de Famara.

Taxi from the Airport
The easiest way to get to the surf school is by taxi. The ride will be 25 to 30 minutes, and will cost about 35-40 euro.
Taxis are available from the airport 24/7.
Airport Pick-up
Unfortunately, we don’t offer this service. Local laws prohibit us from picking up guests from the airport. Please make use of one of the other options. Apologies!
Travel Insurance
Medical insurance is included in the surf lessons, but we strongly recommend that you get travel insurance in case of any cancellations.
If you suddenly cannot come, or cannot utilise any paid-for services, travel insurance will cover your expenses and save you a headache.
